The "Islands in the Clouds" in the title are those of Papua New Guinea, the eastern half of the island of New Guinea. Isabella Tree ce through the guide describes the journeys of over a decade, and particularly at this time shows us the social and ecological change caused by the exploitation to which they were subjected by the oil multinationals. A travel book, or maybe a better story-truth, which speaks of a wild and primitive and of a people separated by thousands of years of clan conflict, which seeks a balance between developing an urgent and respect for tradition.
